Festive Lino Print Card Making

Create handmade lino-printed Christmas cards with tea, scones, and festive fun.

Description

Join me for a cosy, festive Christmas Lino Print Card Workshop at the Reading Room—your chance to slow down, get creative, and make something beautifully handmade this season. In this relaxed three-hour session, you’ll carve a simple Christmas-themed design from a selection of templates, learning the basics of lino cutting in a friendly, supportive environment. Once your block is ready, you’ll create five mono-printed Christmas cards in classic black ink, with the option to add touches of acrylic paint for extra colour and character. All materials, tools, cards and envelopes are provided. This workshop isn’t just about art—it's about community. You’ll enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea with a homemade scone (our little twist on afternoon cream tea, affectionately known as crafternoon tea) while you chat, unwind, and meet others who love to make things by hand. It’s a lovely way to encourage sending real cards, supporting handmade, and connecting with your local community. There will also be a small Alkemi pop-up shop on the day, offering hand-poured candles, soaps, room sprays and thoughtful gifts—perfect for anyone who loves to shop local. Whether you’re completely new to lino printing or have tried it before, this workshop is suitable for all skill levels. Come along on a Tuesday afternoon, with the possibility of an evening or Sunday session if there’s interest. Leave with unique, handmade cards ready to send—and the joy of creating something truly personal for the festive season.
